For photos see Orthodox IX Photo Album The 100th anniversary celebration of the foundation of the Holy Dormition (Assumption) Сhurch on "Kurchaki" in MacNutt (near Yorkton), Saskatchewan, took place on August 28, 2009. Considering that the parish is almost 1000 km from Edmonton and considering that there are relatively few parishioners, on this day there were gather more than 140 believers from the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, who took part in the festival celebrations of the parish. |

For photos see Orthodox IX Photo Album On July 19-25, 2009 at Camp BAR-V-NOK on Pigeon Lake, AB, there was a six-day Children's Orthodox Bible Camp for 29 children, which was very successful. Our campers gathered together in order to commune with each other, to pray together, to have Bible studies, sports, activities, crafts and a good rest. Morning and evening prayers were also conducted each day in the camp's Orthodox chapel. This year we were blessed with good weather and good children. On the last day of camp Divine Liturgy was conducted by Bishop Job, V. Rev. Igor Kisil and Rev. George Sergeev in the Church, which is located at the camp. All the campers and staff were present, as well as many other people. Some children, their parents and members of the staff had Confession and received the Holy Communion. I would like to express my special thanks to the teachers, staff, counsellors, helpers in the kitchen, and to all those who donated money, food and time, and came out to help and make our camp successful. THANK YOU SO MUCH AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU! Father Igor Kisil, Camp Director |

Troparion: O Most Holy Mother of God, today we Orthodox joyfully celebrate thy coming among us. As we gaze at thy icon we cry with compunction: Shelter us under thy protection, deliver us from evil and pray thy Son Christ our God to save our souls. Kontakion: Today the Virgin is standing before us in the Church, praying for us with the choirs of Saints. Angels worship with Hierarchs, Apostles rejoice with Prophets, for the Mother of God intercedes with the Eternal God for us. |
